I'm not sure that Google Voice can be considered a common carrier, because it is not the base transport medium.As I understand it (correct me if I'm wrong) Google Voice cannot be used if you do not have access to a phone. In that sense, it cannot be used as a service to replace your phone. Google is not really a competitor to AT&T, because you can't say, "I'm switching to Google from AT&T."If, on the other hand, you could use Google Voice without a phone, (for example, making and receiving calls through your computer like you do with skype) then I can see an argument for FCC oversight, because it really does become a competitor to the traditional phone companies.

I was once on a date with this hot Indian girl and afterwards we met up with her older, much drunker sister so we could share a cab ride back to Brooklyn from Manhattan. Half way through the ride, her sister starts puking.. and I mean everywhere. She was by the right passenger side with her sister in the middle and me by the left. By the time she was done.. the bag she was using was overfilled, there was puke all over the door, the window as she attempted to vomit outside the window briefly and the floor. And while this all happens, the driver is completely oblivious.. he has no idea what just took place because hes on his cell phone and blasting techno. After we dropped her off we cleaned the back thoroughly since i had towels in my bag. When he dropped us off I gave him a 40 dollar tip and he said "wow, you don't have to it wasn't even that far". Then I told him about the puke and he went to take a look in the back and was amazed at how clean the car was.. said it was cleaner then it had been in months. I regret giving that techno loving cabbie that 40 dollar tip. Atleast the girl put out.!
