yes they are building power plants because of expansion, but the fact of the matter is they are building coal because wind power is to unreliable and alternative power generation is required during low wind or peak demand. And tamman those coal plants will be running year round, burning coal, you cant just flick a switch on a power plant and expect electricity within seconds, it takes a long time to generate the pressure required to spin turbines. look up spinning reserve.also look up the dutch experience with wind power, as far as i know they have the capacity to generate 20% of their power from wind, yet they have not shut down any non renewable power plants. interesting conundrum.
