One need simply look at all the dynastic changes to see that Chinese history has been very violent and turbulent. Yes, I am more than aware that Confucianism is a development past the Zhou dynasty. But what you need to understand is a perpetuation of a system, the status quo, is encouraged, and that any ideal to question or challenge even a flawed system is highly discouraged.
